What thought leadership actually produces for attorneys.

Each of these relationships started with one attorney who had something to say.

LFES helped make sure the right people heard it.

LFES helps our clients bring in new business

A small corporate law firm wanted to be known regionally as the go-to firm for small and medium-sized businesses pursuing commercial litigation and/or facing corporate law issues, particularly conflicts among owners of closely held businesses (a/k/a “business divorces”).

LFES helps the founding partner select recent court decisions and “evergreen” topics to cover in his business divorce blog, and ghostwrites the first drafts of blog posts, which are normally approved with no or minor tweaks by the partner.

In addition to building the founding partner’s reputation for being the go-to business divorce attorney in the region, LFES’ blog posts have directly led to an ideal client matter. An attorney from out-of-state with no presence in the state where our client practices found one of our client’s blog posts about special litigation committees and referred their client to him so that he could form and represent the client’s special litigation committee.

The out-of-state attorney said our client’s name “just kept coming up.” Our client ended the email informing us about this news with “It’s working!”

LFES helps position our clients as authorities and worthy recipients of attorney referrals

A national consumer protection law firm, whose partners regularly argue appeals in the U.S. Circuit Courts of Appeals, wanted to be seen by attorneys as the go-to firm to send their consumer protection cases to, or with whom to co-counsel on cases.

LFES works with the firm’s three name partners on a rotating basis to produce monthly thought leadership articles published in legal industry publications regarding developments in consumer protection law and the impact those court decisions and regulatory agency actions have on consumers and corporations. LFES proposes topics for the partners to cover and ghostwrites the first drafts of the articles, which are normally approved with no or minor tweaks by a partner.

The partners regularly receive favorable emails from attorneys they do not know regarding their articles. One time, a “very well-respected colleague” of our clients emailed one of them regarding their recently authored article to tell them it was “great” and that he had “asked [his] entire team to read it.” According to our client, that response alone “already accomplished [the article’s] mission.”

That same article was the sixth-most-read attorney-contributed article the week it was published in a prominent legal industry media outlet.

LFES helps our clients persuade judges to see the law in a way that’s favorable to their clients

Attorneys at the largest workers’ compensation and disability law firm in its home state, and one of the largest in the U.S., wanted to more regularly share their thoughts about developments in the law, the practice of law, and the business of law with the local, regional, and national legal communities.

In addition to positioning themselves as authorities regarding the areas of law they practice in order to attract referrals from attorneys and non-attorneys, the attorneys at this firm wanted to regularly highlight instances where employers and insurers abuse the litigation process or violate the letter or the spirit of the state’s workers’ compensation laws. The firm believes that calling out employers and insurers for their shenanigans will deter them from engaging in them in the future.

LFES works with the firm’s partners to produce monthly thought leadership articles published in legal industry publications about developments in workers’ compensation and disability law, the practice of law, the business of law, and, most importantly to the firm, employers and insurers behaving badly. LFES regularly meets with the firm’s partners to discuss topics they want to write about and to propose topics for them to cover. LFES ghostwrites the first drafts of the articles, which are normally approved with no or minor tweaks by a partner.

Partners regularly receive favorable comments and feedbacks from attorneys about their articles. But more importantly, they are adamant that local judges have ruled differently in cases based on the articles LFES has produced, which highlight misreadings of statutes, procedural customs inconsistent with statutes, and tactics employed by employers and insurers that are contrary to the spirit and letter of workers’ compensation law.

We’ve had the pleasure of working with this client for almost 5 years.
